🗣️👂✊🔊 We welcomed tenants to our Head Office on Wednesday evening to take part in a focus group to help us to set our priorities for our new Community Empowerment and Community Investment Strategies, helping us to turn up the volume on the Tenant Voice👩🌾👨🌾🐌🐞 Collaboration with The Prince's Trust has seen us working together on a small patch of green space at Bleasdale Street East and knocking it into shape – helping their young people learn new skills, contribute to the community around them, and make a positive difference to this shared communal area which is looking very smart now.
👥👥🚪🚪 Our team also took part in a ‘pop-up’ in the Fishwick area on Monday where they carried out door knocking, as well as holding two Gateway2You sessions in Brookfield and Ingol. It was great to speak to tenants in these areas, providing them with an opportunity to have their voice heard.👀👩🏫👨🏫 Looking ahead to next week, we’ll be delivering Gateway2You sessions in Ashton on Wednesday 12 June (9-11am, Preston West Children’s Centre) and in the City Centre on Thursday 13 June (2-4pm) at City Church Preston.

❓🤔 Where have the teams been this week? We kicked off with a Gateway2You event at St Matthew’s Mission in #Preston on Monday, with another G2Y at the Civic Centre in #Leyland on Thursday. Thanks for coming to see us!🗺️📌On Thursday, we paid a visit to Preston Youth Zone in Moor Nook. We dropped off some promwear for their Wellbeing Wardrobe, and donated some period products courtesy of Hey Girls. Our thanks to Hey Girls for the amazing work you’re doing to end period poverty; we are more than happy to support this vital initiative.
🗣️🗣️ Last but not least, we have been encouraging tenants to attend – and booking them onto – our ‘Amplifying the Tenant Voice’ session, 5-7pm, on Wednesday 5 June at Harbour House, Port Way, Preston, PR2 2DW. Share 13th - 17th May 2024 on Facebook Share 13th - 17th May 2024 on Twitter Share 13th - 17th May 2024 on Linkedin Email 13th - 17th May 2024 link📰 It’s time for a quick update on what your Community Gateway teams have been delivering this week…🗣️ Our Community Engagement Team were in the St Matthew’s neighbourhood, knocking on doors and chatting with tenants about any issues or concerns, and how they might get involved with CGA in the future.⛪ City Church was the venue on Thursday for our latest Gateway2You event. The church holds its regular food market at the same time (Thursdays from 3pm) so this makes it a prime slot for us to be on hand for city centre and Deepdale tenants to ask questions, raise issues and feed back to us. Thursday’s session was a really productive and informative 90 minutes for the team – thank you everyone for coming and sharing your experiences with us. As always, everyone is welcome at future events. Next Gateway2You: Thursday 23 May at the Civic Centre, West Paddock in Leyland, 10am-12pm.👨🌾 The team has also been busy at Moor Nook Allotments signing people up to take on new plots. It's great to see tenants enjoying the instant rewards of growing their own fruit and vegetables, getting out in the fresh air and meeting new people!

This week we've visited city centre tenants to have a chat about ways they can get involved with us. We've also been at Gateway2You sessions in Moor Nook and Ingol, answering questions and concerns and bringing our services right to you. A handy bunch of tenants took part in a second painting and decorating workshop at our charitable subsidiary, Preston Vocational Centre, learning new DIY skills - we also did some filming at PVC, so look out for a video coming soon, all about the centre, its staff and students and the wonderful work they do!

🖌️ Expert advice on painting and decorating was available on a session at Preston Vocational Centre
❓ Lots of fun was had at SHAPE Lancashire's quiz afternoon at Astley Court
🗣️ Engagement and Allocations colleagues were on hand at St Mary Magdalene's church at one of our regular Gateway2You sessions
🤝🏼 Engagement Officers Eddie and Sharon were out and about in South Ribbleton, chatting to tenants about what we've go on at CGA and how to #getinvolved

Share 15th - 19th April 2024 on Facebook Share 15th - 19th April 2024 on Twitter Share 15th - 19th April 2024 on Linkedin Email 15th - 19th April 2024 link🤝 Teamwork has featured large this week at CGA - with our Allocations, Tenancy Support and Engagement teams working together to offer tenants their expert advice and support at our Gateway2You sessions. 🤝🌹 Lisa and Eddie also took part in Red Rose Recovery's Lancashire User Forum, on hand to chat and network. The team also held a pop-up in Moor Nook, letting tenants know about ways to get involved with CGA. 🌹🎨 On the way back they popped in to see tenants Dawn and Duke and drop off the chairs they'd upcycled on our recent course - great job guys! 🪑☕ It was lovely to see members of Farri Park's Over 50s Friendship Group enjoying an afternoon tea together at The Courtyards, supported by our Community Fund - what a nice way to round off the week! 🍰

Share 8th - 12th April 2024 on Facebook Share 8th - 12th April 2024 on Twitter Share 8th - 12th April 2024 on Linkedin Email 8th - 12th April 2024 link🖌️ It’s been a creative week at CGA – from decorating and planting at our Pot Doodle session for families, to a Wallpapering Workshop delivered by our friends at Preston Vocational Centre plus the final Upcycling course, which has proved really popular. One tenant who took part told us: “We felt very welcomed and well supported. The rest of our small group were also welcoming and we all got on so well even though we were all meeting for the first time. We enjoyed prepping, painting and waxing our two chairs. It was a wonderful inclusive course that I shall be telling my friends about. Thank you for organising it.” 🎨The teams have also been making themselves available to tenants right in the 💜 of our communities, holding Gateway2You drop-ins in Ashton and Blackpool.
