Weekly Engagement Update

This week saw the last of our air-fryer cookery sessions, delivered with Beanstalk Food and Cookery, and after enjoying making and eating some delicious food together, the participants went home with a brand-new air-fryer each! We’ve also been out in your communities again, as part of our rolling programme of Gateway2You sessions – this week in North/South Ribbleton and Fishwick and joined by Allocations and Tenancy Support colleagues. This week has been all about offering our tenants some great ways to engage with us and each other! They've been upcycling old furniture 🎨, cooking and eating together 🥘, popping along to our Gateway2You sessions and chatting to us as we're out and about in our neighbourhoods. Our Engagement team also took part in a joint partnership meeting at The Hub at Grange Park to discuss how we can work together to support Moor Nook families 🧸

This week we’ve brought our services right to your door with Gateway2You sessions in Moor Nook, Fishwick, Ribbleton and Ingol - listening to your views so we can act on them.

The team have also dropped in to see our friends at Preston Vocational Centre to talk about some upcoming decorating workshops you’ve told us you want, so watch this space!

Spring is springing, so Eddie popped along to see how our community allotments at Moor Nook are looking – check out that cabbage!

This week saw the launch of the Preston Central Family Hub, and our team were there to meet tenants and their families enjoying this new resource. It was also great to visit Boston Way Community Centre and the People’s Pantry opening day – we’re looking forward to seeing tenants growing their own!

At CGA, we listen to your views and act on them. This week saw our Environmental Services and Engagement teams working together to address dog fouling issues in Ingol Dip - tenants had told us about the problem, so we've installed two more bins which should help 🐕. We also got together with Let's Grow Preston who organised a fabulous family fun day for half-term at The Hub on Grange Park, with lots of activities on offer for children 💐. Our men's group met on Thursday for a session on mental health - thanks to Adam from The Haven - Central Lancashire for his input 🧠. Engagement have rounded off the week with a pop-up in Deepdale, talking and listening to tenants and sharing involvement opps 🤝. Happy Friday!

It's been another busy week in the world of Community Engagement here at CGA!

🤝 We held two of our Gateway2You sessions, in Brookfield and the city centre/ Deepdale, bringing our teams to you. The team was also out and about in the St Matthew’s area, chatting to tenants about involvement opportunities and listening to their views. SHAPE Lancashire Lancashire held a games afternoon for older tenants at Almelo House, which got quite competitive 🃏

🍳 Sharon dropped in to visit tenants who were enjoying the breakfast club at Farri Park community centre before attending the third men’s support session at Intact Centre, participants were getting help and advice on food and cooking 🍽️

We’ve seen some great levels of engagement with our tenants this week as they took part in a range of activities, getting advice and support as well as giving us their feedback and suggestions on the way we do things.

🗣️ Tenant Talk group – lovely to see some new faces joining us to review and advise us on the way we communicate

❄️ Our third Winter Warmer session – offering advice on saving money, cooking in an air-fryer and more.

👨 The first session of a series for men who may be feeling isolated – getting advice on energy efficiency and going home with a free slow cooker and heated seat cover.

🤝 Gateway2You at Ribbleton Family Hub – our Engagement team was joined by colleagues from Service Transformation and Allocations, offering help and advice where it’s needed, in the heart of our communities. Look out for a session coming to your area soon.

👮 Plungington Day of Action – out in the community with Preston Police as part of #NeighbourhoodPolicingWeek, along with members of our Tenancy Services team. Our new van awning giving shelter as people joined us for a brew!
