The numbers of people facing mental health problems is still rising, and we understand the importance of understanding your Mental Health and how you can access help and support.


Andy's Man Club

Andy's Man Club was formed in 2016 as a place for men to come together to discuss their mental health in an open and welcoming environment. Anyone can attend these sessions, which provide a great space to open up and speak to others who may be in a similar position to you. All the sessions are drop-in, completely free to attend, with free brews and biscuits.

When: Every Monday night at 7pm (excluding bank holidays)

Men's Sheds Association

Men's Sheds Association was founded in 2013 and aim to support Men’s Sheds across the UK. Men's Sheds are kitted out community spaces where men can enjoy practical hobbies, meet new people, learn/share skills and chat about whatever is on their mind. There are Sheds all across the country offering different practical sessions, all free to attend.

Lancashire Mind is an independent charity based in Chorley, who aim to support people living and working in Lancashire. They'll help you understand how to look after both yours and others mental health, coping through tough times, improving your wellbeing and more.

We are Lancashire Women

Lancashire Women support over 500 people each year to make positive change in their lives. Over the years, the charity have built their expertise around women’s health, wellbeing, money advice and employability, but do also offer other services to those that need them. They do offer free one-to-one therapy, courses and peer led groups without needing a doctor's referral.

Challenge Through Sport Initiative

The CSI is a bespoke behaviour change programme for people who need to build up their resilience to substance misuse. There are various activities on throughout Preston each week and you can find the timetables on their website. You're able to self-refer yourself for their support.

Crisis Line

Lancashire & South Cumbria's Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. It's staffed by trained mental health professionals who will help refer you to appropriate services.

Talking Therapies

This Talking Therapy service offers free sessions to people aged 16 and over in Lancashire. Whether you know exactly what you're struggling with, or just know you need some support, you can self-refer yourself for the service and speak to a member of their team. You'll then have an initial telephone assessment to decide which support option is best for you and your needs.




Shout

Shout is the UK's first and only free, confidential, 24/7 text messaging service for anyone who is struggling. It is free to text Shout on all major mobile networks in the UK and messages won't appear on your phone bill. Once you've sent your initial text, you'll be connected to a Shout Volunteer who are here to listen at any time of day or night and conversations tend to last up to 45-60 minutes if you need it.

Text: text the word 'Shout' to 85258 to be connected to a volunteer




Samaritans

Samaritans are a charity who support anyone who is struggling to cope, day or night. There are many free ways you can contact them, whether you're just looking to offload or would like to talk about something that's on your mind.
